Thank you for this. Building in house is fascinating and valuable. As content creators, existing tools are all a little off. In particular, track changes and versioning. I wonder — can you allow people to reverse particular changes to a previous version? e.g. The editor made ten changes in different sections of the draft. We need to reverse one of those but retain the rest.

Most “modern” tools that use history instead of file versions make it hard to deal with granular comparisons. I find it so frustrating!
